Searching for your soul mate? Love is the ultimate quest, one that makes life worth living and feeds your soul, but it is also one of the most difficult things to achieve long-term. Love must be satisfying and rewarding for both people, and you must love yourself as much as another to create this mutuality. Boundaries are what we’re talking about here!
In Chapter 5 of Becky’s memoir Beyond the Great Abyss, Becky’s relationship with Ricky has become very intense. Her self-destructive behaviors are escalating and her dreams are again warning her potential to “lose herself” in another person. Keith DeOrio, M.D., Becky’s highly intuitive medical doctor, advises her to take the homeopathic remedy Phosphorus, a classic remedy for people with “poor boundaries.” (See Workbook Introduction for how to use this workbook, which is being posted on this blog, one chapter per week).
Intuition Development Exercise: What’s up with your love life? Are you in a relationship that is bothering/hurting you? Or maybe you are not in a relationship currently but wish you were? Think about that problematic relationship, (or one from your past), and write down all the wonderful experiences and good feelings you get (or got) from being with that person. Then write down the negative experiences and feelings. What about your dreams? Have they been trying to tell you something?
Take a moment and meditate on all that is this relationship, asking yourself, “What should I know about my relationship with ____?” (use the first and last name). As you go deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation, your innate intuition will connect with a greater source of energy and bring you wisdom. You may hear a voice, see a vision, or just “know.” If this message resonates powerfully for you, it is true intuition trying to help you. Write down the message, as in that deeper mental state (as with dreaming) you may forget it quickly.
Homeopathic of the Week : Phosphorus: Keynote symptom: Lack of boundaries
The Mental State: Open, bright, excitable, suggestible, anxious patients. Anxiety when alone. Fear of being alone, death, dark thunderstorms. Sympathetic. Clairvoyant. Gullible.
Common Physical Signs: Easily dehydrated. Nose bleeds. Hoarseness. Appetite ravenous, craves chocolate, ice cream or cold foods. Tremendous thirst for cold drinks. Sex drive increased. Recurring respirator infections. Lingering coughs. Pneumonia. Angina. Numbness of fingers.
Health Tip: Sunshine, Cancer and Vitamin D
The sun has been getting a bad rap lately. Plaster on the sunscreen, cover up, stay in the shade…. Let’s remember that no life at all would exist on this planet without the sun, and that people in sunny climates actually have lower total levels of cancer than people in Northern climates, as well as possibly being friendlier and happier. (Boston was recently rated the least friendly city in the US, and I think it might have something to do with the lack of sun for so many months).
Vitamin D is essential to bone development and your nervous and immune systems, and nothing gets Vitamin D into your tissues as effectively as actual sun exposure. Of course, you should protect your skin from too much sun, but let’s use common sense before we ban the sun!
